Mzuzu Bible Institute Projects

MBI Small Scale Projects

Translation Work
The Mzuzu Bible Institute desires to offer Bible training, to those who have the highest levels of education, as well as those who have lacked the opportunity to go to go on in their studies. To accomplish this, we work with top notch translators who help us supplement the massive volume of translation work which is in demand. Not only will these books be available to our MBI students, but for the first time in history, we are making Bible Believing study materials widely available in the languages of Chichewa and Chitumbika. We have seen the devastating affects of bad translation work and therefore we follow a stringent, and comprehensive 24 step translation process which has been in development sine 2009. Being able to read both of the languages of Chitumbuka and  Chichewa ensures that I have the final approval of these translated materials. This process shown below ends up costing us an average of four dollars per english, textbook page (4$/page). We have translated over 2500 pages so far and are asking our supporters to enable us to do more. This is an ongoing need. (Designate as “Textbook Translation”)

MBI Medium Scale Projects

MBI Student Credit Hours
Men and women who devote their lives to the study of God’s word often face incredible opposition from their clans and extended families. Having been born into a “free” society it has taken me years to realize the scope of the implications for those who are born into a “communal" society. To use a common Christian analogy, as Christians we know that God says that “we are not our own” but that we have been “bought with a price”. Biblically we are to view ourselves, our lives, and even our bodies as not being “ours” at all. In fact because we belong whole to the Lord, it is not unreasonable to think that we most properly exist in the callings and the capacities which suit best Gods perfect will for us, be it by life or by death.

Much in the same way is the common Malawian expected  to view his relationship to his circle of people and extended family. In this very communal system of existence he “rightfully owes” his time, effort and energies to whatever the consensus of the will of the greater circle of people who surround him/her is. As such it is not often…in fact it never happens that, the greater consensus sees value in someone to study and learn the scriptures. God generally does not call an entire clan to see the wisdom in studying his words, and for the individuals who ARE called their calling is generally seen as a
“wasting their time” which will not bring future benefit to the overall clan.

For an American this poses an inconvenience but in Africa it makes the devoted Christian life a near impossibility. Knowing the backdrop to these challenges better enables us to understand the need as Bible Believing Christians to help those who are genuinely called into the ministry, to find a place of refuge in the Mzuzu Bible Institute. You can support one student to earn one credit hour at our cost of 25$/credit hour.

MBI Large Scale Projects

Supplemental MBI Teachers
Malawi’ economy continues to rank amongst the poorest nations on the planet year after year. While this puts the entire nation at a disadvantage, it has particular affects on those who are desirous to study for the ministry. The Mzuzu Bible Institute is a ministry which seeks to make available sound Bible teaching in a verity of different formats which cater to men who are already in the ministry and can only attend part time courses, as well as those who will be able to participate as full time students. These students are required to earn 120 credit hours, accumulated through ongoing classes, seminar participations, student practicals, and writing essays. These courses are implemented under the direction of MBI director, Brother Chris Resmondo and are taught by the combined efforts of Chris Resmondo, David Robinson, Daniel Nyirenda, Mac Anthony Mwandirire, as well as the supplemented efforts of visiting Pastors and Bible Teachers from the USA, SA, New Zealand, and other ministers from around the world.
Over the years God has put us in direct contact with men from all over the world who are gifted Bible teachers. These men have received the gift of teaching from the Lord with he express purpose of edifying, and building up, and encouraging the Body of Christ. While Malawi lags behind economically we have put forth every effort to still include great Bible teachers in the line up to minister to our students through the platform of one - two week long Seminars. These men have been asked by us to make themselves available for this missions trip to help us supplement at least four to six of these types of efforts every year. So far we have held eight of these seminars and we have seen God move mightily every time. All of these trips thus far have been self-funded missions, but these individuals struggle to keep up with the financial demand which is required in order to keep going.

We ourselves stand first in line as the initial financial supporters of these efforts and we are asking our supporters to consider enabling these men to keep being used in this capacity. While we cover all costs of accommodations, and local transportation, we would love to help supplement their airfare. Please consider these men and their willingness to come to serve in this ministry. (Earmark as “MBI teacher _____Name/Any_____)”

3 John 1:5-8
Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers; Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well: Because that for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles. We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth.

Paul Robinson

Pastor of Northstar Baptist Church, Fairbanks, AK
Paul Robinson was asked to step up to minister as full-time pastor after b=having served faithfully as associate pastor at Northstar Baptist Church for several years. As such he has become the senior pastor of our sending church. Although he has stood behind this ministry in various ways over the years he has never had opportunity to visit this mission field.
