Over the years our efforts here in Malawi have solidified into fairly-specific branches of ministry. Each of these ministries caters to a particular genre of people representing special ministry needs. We believe that the nature of our mission's work in Malawi needs to be approached with long-term goals in mind. These ministries not only signify what we are doing through them now, but they also represent the capacities in which future missionaries will be able to serve through them in time to come.
Lusangazi Mission Evangelism Ministry
L.M.E.M. is an Evangelism Ministry through which we organize our major Evangelistic Crusades and public preaching efforts. The most notable annual event is the “Stanley Burgan Evangelism” event. This annual evangelistic effort is so named because of the inspirational evangelistic efforts which were shown by brother Burgan when he was sent to help us in repeated evangelistic efforts. These " Gospel Crusades" made possible when we partnered with Pastor Travis Altop and Bluegrass Pike Baptist Church in Kentucky. Every May now finds us spending the majority of the entire month living in tents, moving with our team from village to village preaching, teaching, holding question and answer services and much more. Each year during this event we are able to preach a clear presentation of the Gospel to crowds which, collectively are estimated to range between 10,000 -15,000 people who gather to hear the preaching. In addition to the public preaching, we are also able to distribute thousands of gospel tracts. Although it is only God who knows the true hearts of those who respond to the preaching, we regularly see several hundred people make professions of faith every year. We love to host volunteers for the Stanley Burgan Evangelistic Event so it is open to all Independent Baptist Churches and like-minded christians in the USA, South Africa, Australia, etc. So please feel welcome to come and join us this coming May as we continue in these efforts.
Mzuzu Bible Institute
Next is the ministry to which the majority of our time is dedicated. This ministry is our “baseline” for establishing discipleship groups after we have evangelized an area. At the end of evangelizing each area, we offer those who have shown an interest the opportunity to register as an “MBI Extension Group” in their area. Groups that meet all of our qualifications are serviced either by myself or by one of the older students who has qualified for our “student-teacher" program. This generally results in small groups being established, and undergoing a year-long discipleship course. The other half of the Mzuzu Bible Institute is a 3-year theological training program which has been uniquely designed to "fit" in the Malawian context and can potentially provide training to the highest level possible for pastors and dedicated Christians who are serious about serving God. Every year we continue to establish new MBI Extension Groups, and see an increased enrollment of MBI students for the courses held at our campus. If you are a pastor or Bible teacher in the USA who holds to an understanding of Biblical doctrine similar to us, please consider coming over for one of our monthly, one-week seminars into which we incorporate other members of the Body of Christ to come and bless our students by teaching subjects which you are particularly knowledgeable and passionate about. Whether it be a particular book of the Bible, or a subject such as Christian Finances, or End-Times Prophecy, please feel free to make arrangements with me via email so that we can plan your trip!
The International Bible Camp is a ministry which seeks to “use short-term missions to accomplish long-term goals”. The IBC works hand in hand with Independent Baptist pastors around the world to plan and implement effective short-term missions trips with groups and individuals from their churches. We (humbly speaking) “specialize” in third-world missions and our goal is to help YOU (college and career aged Christians /Young married couples) get from the pew of your local Bible Believing church to a mission field in the third world. The IBC facilitates a Christian camping ministry for local teens while providing opportunity for the international volunteers to minister as camp counselors. 2017 saw the first ever effort in this ministry and we are looking forward to YOU joining us for future IBC events. Pleas see the IBC website for details.
Independent Baptist Support Center Of Malawi
Once an area has been effectively evangelized and a group of people have been taught in the basic doctrines of the scripture, I.B.S.C.O.M. works with trained indigenous pastors to help these groups to take the next step and actually organize themselves into a local church. The two-year program duration of this ministry is unique in that it offers these groups the guidance and instruction which is so desperately needed during this fragile stage, while still emphasizing the autonomy of the local church. Each quarter of the year we work through major goals in the establishment of the new congregation. As we continue to establish these groups in sound doctrine, we also guide them in many practical areas of need ranging from helping them establish godly leadership for their church, to Biblical lessons on how the churches finances are to be utilized in a godly way. After two years we commit them to the Lord and remain in fellowship as they grow in the Lord.
This ministry is dedicated to the relief of the truly needy physical conditions of the people of Malawi. In 2014 while reading through the book of Ruth, God called me to make a concerted effort to actively show His mercy to orphaned and abandoned children in Malawi. As I considered all of the ministry work we were already busy with in Malawi, the Lord confirmed this calling through a phrase in Matthew 23:23 …these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Although this aspect of ministry has been met with many challenges and is yet to be fully realized, it is in my heart just as it was the day God called me to this work. We are praying that God will align both the dedicated personnel to come work with us, as well as the financial backing to fully implement this vision in His time.
Charity Baptist Church
We also still serve (as needed) in the teaching and preaching ministries of the local Independent Baptist Churches which we have been a part of getting started here in Malawi. Charity Baptist Church was the first ministry that we started in Mzuzu back in 2008. and it is now under the leadership of Pastor Daniel Nyirenda and his wife Alinafe. The youth pastor is brother Mac Anthony Mwandirire and his wife Liness. These folks serve the Lord faithfully and we greatly covet your prayers for them as they continue to grow in the Lord.

Join The Efforts
There is still a great need for more laborers to be sent out of churches like yours. We need Christians who will come and labor with us here in Malawi. Although we have planted these different ministries and they are all currently functioning in some capacity, in time we will surely prove to be inadequate to keep up with the multiple demands, and will become increasingly in need of others to come and supplement our efforts. If you have a calling to missions work, a servant's heart, and are interested in being a part of these ministries in any capacity, please contact us!
